He doesn’t fit into our style or system, personally I think Lampard wants him but for next season not this one.
Didn't fit into Pochettino's system and was bombed out. Didn't fit into Mourinho's system and was bombed out. Didn't fit into Conte's system and was bombed out and got rid of. I wonder whether there is a manager out there with a system that he is capable of playing well in? Neil Warnock? Tony Pulis? Vanderlei Luxemburgo? If Lampard manages to get even one decent game out of him, he will prove himself to be more unique and specially talented as a manager than any of us might have imagined on the basis of his record to date.

Don’t think he bombed under Pochettino, I’m sure he was boss under him.

The club needed reinforcements in Jan that would come in to the starting 11 and took far too many gambles. I don’t see where he fits in to the way Lampard has played so far, even if he was in form. I want him to be a success but he can’t be if he’s not starting games in front of some of these rotters

Greg O’Keeffe writes in The Athletic today (3 April): “Contrary to rumours that he is unfit, others close to the club maintain Dele works hard in training while also conceding there is ultimately a difference between fitness and match sharpness

“It is true the former England international was lacking condition at the start of February but he has been committed to addressing that at Finch Farm even without the benefit of full games under his belt.

“While there is no discontent, there is an admission from those close to him that the situation will need to be assessed in the summer if Dele has still not had many chances, but they hope he remains a long-term part of Lampard’s plans.”

Very sus deal at the time and looking more and more sus as the days go by. Quite possibly the worst signing we could have made at the time. 100k a week not to play football. Sigurdsson would be proud.

Please correct me, people, but EFC can unload him back to Spurs by not playing him the required number of games and
avoiding the 10m payment.

EFC has no longer-term commitment than this season. Am I wrong?

The idea of seeing this turd again next season gives me the willies.
No mate, we have him for 2 more years, if we don't play him we don't owe Spurs a fee, but, we still have to pay him 80 grand a week for the length of his contract, unless we can convince some other club to take him.

I'll put my hands up i originally thought this could be a good signing with the lad having something to prove and still being young and not reached his peak years, but the fact that lampard doesn't play him at all is screaming out that either he wasn't actually his choice or that he really doesn't rate him despite his statements to the contrary. As it goes on as well especially with our inability to make chances you would have thought his ability to do just that (albeit a few years ago since his best) would be worth a gamble for at least a couple of 45 minute appearances.
