Fairly sure if any of us rock up to work not showing any interest in doing our job properly our contract would be terminated. What is it that's special about footballers?

Doubt there is a 'show interest' clause in their contracts and proving they aren't interested would be very difficult
Footballers get sold or dropped until sold, no contract renewed.
I suppose it is unusual to have anybody as good as they are at anything not being interested.
Takes more than talent to get the first contract after all. Dele scenario is a rare occurence

I can't fathom what it is with him. I agree it's difficult to prove. However it's obvious he's not producing the goods. If a teacher had classes where the kids consistently failed there'd be plenty of ways of getting rid ... After support etc had been offered obviously.

A teacher would be a lot slower to write those kids off though if they were previously exceptional
I just hope some MLS team takes a punt on him in the summer, there is no chance for him at Everton after failing at Besiktas. Probably on a fat wedge too

Weird really - for a lot of jobs this sort of behaviour would be grounds for dismissal wouldn't it ?

Yes it’s a strange situation, is it possible that through his present mental state he is not able to perform at his job and therefore he has to be signed off from his contract as he is not able to perform his job requirements, not having a go at Dele but he doesn’t seem to be functioning right at the present time.

I doubt very much there is any kind of clause that would facilitate that. Just gotta wait out his contract if we can't offload in the summer. Another poor nostalgia based Kenwright decision

Or we might be able to pay him off with a reduced amount because of his state of health.

For me its a few issues:


Dembele + Eriksen left Spurs
Mourinho changed the style of play
Hamstring injuries
Not making the same number of runs + not being picked out.

He could be quiet for 89mins and then we would suddenly see him score for Spurs.

People are looking at him as a type of player that should dominate or effect games....hes not that player.

Hes the wild card that can get on the end of a pass and score.

Yeah that seems to make sense. It's at the same time Ozil, Sigurdsson, and similar players were less influential and in demand.
