He cannot afford to miss out completely on football for a season.... which is what will happen if he stays at Everton.

In twelve months time his profile will have slipped even further and will find it difficult to attract interest from any league or club of note.

I think he is 100% certain to leave and will get a golden handshake of some kind to go.

Pretty much this mate, good post. It’s why there will be a compromise. He will get some % pay off here, pick up a contract elsewhere, essentially paid twice and play, which he won’t get here.

Honestly it's sad to see any player going through a semi depression/mental health episode.

He has dropped off face of the world in terms of his potential and ability.

I would like to see him welcomed back at the club because it wasn't THAT long ago that he contributed to a high level but if we are totally honest, he needs to find his own path so I'd welcome his release

In spurs amazon series in 2019 Mourinho has a chat with Dele in his office about why his performances have gone from very high level to inconsistent and that he will regret it if he does not fulfil his potential and that he should demand more from himself. In one ear out the other im afraid

It really depends on what his motives are…..if he is happy not to play football, yes he sits there and takes the salary without compromise but if he wants to play Football, then I agree there will be compromise. I think he’s a troubled guy, but I do genuinely think he wants to continue to play football - why else would he go to Besiktas, unless he wanted get his career back on track - he could have sat at Everton for the last six months picking up his salary so I think his intentions are good, I am just not sure he has the discipline.

Friends already there (4 former team mates iirc)
No doubt football too, but quite where it would be placed on a list is anyone’s guess. It didn’t appear to be too high up the list given his (lack of) appearances and falling out with coaches.

It seems a ridiculous choice to go there for those reasons when you could go to the Spanish or Italian leagues for those same speculated reasons….I suspect Besiktas were the only club interested and he has gone there in the hope of finding form

How many chances - different clubs - how many different managers ? Clearly no hunger or desire anymore. Need to find best way for both parties to move on.
