Lol, have a loff at this what's appeared on my news feed 😆
We could probably contribute about 5% of his wage

Line up a loan for him until January to let him get fit and match sharpness and tell him when he returns he will get a chance. That way we could get either a small loan fee or some wages off the books, avoid paying an installment fee and also have a player back who has played regularly and playing for a new contract.

Makes sense so I'm sure we wouldn't consider it.

"If the guy was a full Everton player"
"but he isn't our player"

Who's player is he mert ?
Firstly, what's with the attitude, mate? We're all supposed to be on the same side, here, and having a civilised exchange of views. No need for unpleasantness at all.

Secondly, yes I was guilty of a little terminological inexactitude in how I expressed myself. What I meant was that Dele is not a 'normal' Everton player, in that he has a ticking financial time bomb attached to him if he plays a few more games, the manager has never fancied him, and by far most folk on here put him at the top of their 'must get rid' list, and were assuming that he virtually had one foot out the door. I was just saying, just in my own personal opinion, that it's unlikely that the player will get back to anywhere near where he once was, despite his courageous interview - certainly not anytime soon. Consequently fellow fans should be cautious with their optimism, and it definitely wouldn't be worth incurring more transfer fee by playing Dele, just to see if he could make good.

There's plenty of room for disagreement with what I've said, but no reason at all to get shirty over it.

Attitude ?....deary me.
Unpleasantness ????

It's you that wrote it
I merely repeated it.

Just for the record , Dele is an Everton player as of last January .
He has a contract with the club just like any other player and with that the Club like ANY employer provides a duty of care to its employees.

Absolutely, he's an Everton player - it was only my clumsy phrasing that seemed to put it in doubt. . Absolutely, Everton have a duty of care, as well as a moral duty to be reasonable. I'm fine with us keeping him for now, and having him train with everyone else, to keep him stable, and see how good he can make himself again. My personal view is just that I doubt he can get back to his former best anytime soon, if at all, because serious mental health issues often take a long while to expunge from the system. Regardless of the health thing, an athlete or artist who has descended a long way from their best for a number of years can struggle to get back there, regardless of how hard they try.

I really hope Dele can get back to his best, and more importantly, be at peace with himself and happy. Because of the doubt that he can rapidly recover his previous form, I'm just suggesting that fans shouldn't be too optimistic about it, and that he isn't selected enough to trigger the additional transfer fee unless the club is really sure he has managed to fully turn things around.

I don't want to turn this into a personal argument, mate, so I'll shut up about it, now. Please rest assured, though, that I wish the bloke the best, and please also accept that I believe he should be considered as a human first and foremost, and a player a long way behind that.

No worries mate.

I hope he gets the help he needs. I hope he can salvage his career, mental health is a killer, In a sport where you need to be focused and sharp, I'd imagine the impact being severe, like it seems to have been with Dele. He has a difficult road ahead to learn coping strategies and hopefully get his mojo back.

In recent seasons since Del's form has fallen off a cliff the one common theme has been how poor he was at training.
If he genuinely wants to get himself back on track then the first step is to train like a demon.
Fortunately, I've never suffered a addiction to sleeping tablets.

I would however expect it would be quite the challenge to 'train like a demon' when suffering from such an addiction.

He’s been out of rehab a few weeks and was there for six weeks so I’d imagine he’s ‘clean’ and would be more than ready to go

I’m no expert but I don’t think these tablets would have long lasting physical effects more like the want to take more to get shut off from reality. Training is natures sleeping pill too, if he’s struggling to sleep, running is a great natural relaxant

No, it was more a comment on the previous poster moaning about how poor he'd been in training.

Hopefully things improve for him.

Im going to be...I dunno, blunt? There are places where mental health is an anchor and there are places where you can escape it for a bit. It's possible that Alli can use football to forget about the **** he has gone through. Would be a revelation for all as it's hard to overcome trauma but there are chances where he could escape it, even if for a few hours a week.

Tottenham wants him used to get more. Everton wants to not play him to pay less. Seems like a perfect opportunity to negotiate a one time payment to eliminate the clause in the agreement which could also benefit a player that put in some great seasons for the Spurs but is struggling now.
