Mait, Lampard would have had significant input into it. Just because he wasn't officially announced doesn't mean he wasn't already working to identify targets and leave the work to Thelwell to get over the line asap.

I think the fact Lampard didn't once select Alli until we were mathematically safe is proof he didn't want him.

Thelwell wasn't at the club then either in fairness. We signed players without a DOF or manager for some bizarre reason.

I mean, your last sentence definitely is correct, but his "we did it!" comment would be extremely strange if he had no input into the deal, unless the pair of them had discussed putting on a show for the cameras, which appears unlikely.

Arry Redknapp also recommended Dele to the club.

Bit of a coincidence that his relation is the manager.

But everything on here has to be a conspiracy or pop at the owner/board/DOF - more than likely Dele joined and Lampard quickly realised in training/on the pitch he's finished at this level.

One of those things he was worth a punt imo.

Can see why you'd take a punt but was never going be the type that would roll up his sleeves and start over. He doesn't seem to want it at all, but wants the cash to coast.

It's good that Lampard has called a halt to this as soon as he could really. Even if we have to subsidise his wages, it's better than paying him in full for nothing. The money can be put to use elsewhere. Hopefully the loan is with obligation, we can't be stuck with him next year.

He definitely was. It's not worked out and now he's off with minimum damage done....
