He will go. He will be forgotten.

Hopefully he will live a good life even if he never kicks another football. Hopefully we return to the apex of the footballing world again.

I reckon there was more to this deal than we were told. I reckon we were paying Spurs some sort of a fee per appearance. It’s just too weird that he just disappeared with apparently a 14 month injury randomly and nobody ever told us what the injury was.
I think if he was anything other than unavailable (for whatever reason) he’d have been released by mutual consent.
I believe if the only thing stopping him from playing was a payment due to Spurs, his agents would have negotiated an out for him.
The fact he sat on the treatment table disappeared without a trace, and was happy to sit around and collect his wages, when he could have been earning them by actually playing elsewhere leads me to think it is as simple as it appears.
He can’t play football to a top tier standard at present / anymore

Very similar to the Blomquist/ Ginola/ Gascoigne deals once top class players well last their prime, injury riddled and basically finished. One thing in common all signed during the Kenwright era. The signing of Dele Ali had Kenwrights grubby fingers all over it.

Will go down in the club's history as one of the worst transfers of all time. Definitely in the Alcaraz / McGeady / Bolasie / Tosun category.
Its horrible when you`ve signed a player and paid 100k a week, hardly got any game time out of him, he`d have no problem travelling to watch spurs in London but after 2 1/2 years couldn`t even show up last game of the season for lap of pitch, and still can think of other transfers that could be just as bad.

Yup. We've seen some disastrous transfers in recent years... But I'm struggling to think of one that was so easy to see in advance was obviously going to be a failure as this one.

Even Schneidelin made sense on paper. But Dele Alli? Was never, ever going to work.

They did say what it was it was a groin injury that required surgery. He's obviously got a lot of other things going on aswell if it was just a case of us having to pay Spurs it would have been in all 3 partys best interests to sort something out nobody benefits from the way its happened so it would make no sense to do that deliberately.
