2023/24 Dele

Levy is a smart businessman. Accept different terms, Dele plays more than 7 games and Spurs get £10m, albeit in slower time

Dont accept different terms, Dele plays 6 games then leaves in the summer for free. Spurs get £0

He would be absolutely mad not to renegotiate the payment terms if it still guarantees the £10m
Exactly he is a smart business man...he will know how bad our window has been and how exposed we are to any injury crisis...he will know also how critical it is for us to survive...so if Dele gets anywhere fit enough to play football, it is likely that it will play 7 games this season.

Hark at you… That sort of passive aggressiveness is how Hitler started

Always happens:

Godwin's law, also known as Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies, is a statement maintaining that if any online discussion continues long enough, someone will almost certainly compare someone else to Hitler. Typically, the comment likens someone to Hitler or calls that person a Nazi, and the individual described in that way is often a participant in the discussion. The law is thought to apply to conversations about any conceivable topic.

I would try to renegotiate. No way Levy backs down, but it makes him look bad and we can say we tried. Win win. It’s a shame for Dele that he is trapped in a bureaucratic mess but if we couldn’t bring in a winger I doubt ownership would want to pay for a rental. I still think he should have gone out on loan.

Doesn't really make Levy look bad. We could equally release Dele from his contract if we want to

True. But Levy changing the deal is more realistic. He doesn’t lose anything as we probably didn’t plan on playing him without a renegotiation. We should hav spared ourselves the embarrassment and given him a good loan.

It is likely he will play six games and then stop because we can't afford the 10m.

We can't play Dele
Dele can't play until January at the earliest.
Spurs get nothing and the player walks for free next summer.

We are not going to take a risk on Dele, we have seen nothing to warrant taking a chance either in terms of form or fitness.

If Spurs reconfigure the deal and Dele returns to form then Spurs will get money from us, if not they get nothing.
They have nothing to lose by altering the terms of the deal.
