I think he is contract and mental health is the "issue".How can he still be injured?
How many weeks has it been now; ten?
And he is still miles away from getting onto the grass?
I don't mind that approach, they might even be using it as a cover for his mental wellbeing, there's some idiots amongst the fan base who will struggle with the concept of his ongoing mental health struggles.Honestly believe the injury is a lie so the club can avoid playing him
Then, from when ever he's fit, We / He have 6 games to decide if he wants to stay and / or is good enough to justify £10MIt’s 7 games that triggers £10m as far as I know.
You know within 7 games whether it’s worth the risk or not.
To get a possible something instead of a definite nothing.Objectively, why would Spurs come to the table for renegotiations?
Are we resigning the 'loan' with additional years (at a different salary) and different payment terms? They would not get the payment if we restructure the deliverables within the current contract length...
Because if we play him 6 or fewer times this season, they get no fee.Objectively, why would Spurs come to the table for renegotiations?

But it would mean something if the contract itself is renegotiated, but we don't know anything about his current game (training or match-wise). The only way is to actually consider the payment as a 'loan fee' as a possible something. Could be, hmm....To get a possible something instead of a definite nothing.
Yeah but why would Spurs even come in to negotiate, if we add on more games or reduce the first payment fee it would be ditto. Spurs should have something to gain within the current contract length right...Because if we play him 6 or fewer times this season, they get no fee.
It's not a loan, and the player will become a free agent in June. I presume Everton or any other club would be free to sign him at that point.
I obviously don't know the situation, but given our finances, I'd imagine it's fairly unlikely we intend to play him the number of games that will activate a £10m payment clause.
