Asked whether a solution had been found between the two clubs, Dyche said:

‌“No not yet, Kev has had a couple of phone calls just lightly in the background, [asking Tottenham] 'look, where do you see it?’ But nothing has changed at the moment.

‌“I must make it clear [Dele] is on the grass but still a long way from being fit, he is not training with us he is with the sports science staff.

“He is just really getting back to where he was He was drastically unfortunate when the rehab (went) wrong after an operation, and it is almost more time than the original moment.

‌“But the specialists advised to leave it alone and just let it heal naturally. He is in a good place, but he is still quite far away.”

This is exciting news
Dyche did a wonderful job getting DCL back to his fit best and he seems to be doing a good job developing our younger players too

Could he be the man to put an arm round Dele and get something out of him?
I honestly do think if he had the time to work with him long term and a free hand game-wise to break him back in slowly Dyche would be the man to nurse him back towards his best. He is a very good man manager.

The problem though isn't just the situation with Spurs but also the fact his contract expires next summer, and obviously in the circumstances we can't really renew it. I'm not sure that allows the time or the opportunity to nurse him back, and even if we can get him back playing well then, as good a thing as that'll be for him, it'll likely ultimately be for the benefit of another club.

Levy soft spot? Doesn't exist. Attitude as hard as nails.
They are flying and everything about the club seems to be in a good place at the moment. We might catch him in a rare generous mood lol it would be decent PR for them also... All this hinges though as it always has with the player. I've got no doubts Dyche and his team will be able to get him 100% physically fit. It's if the lad is in a good place and motivated.

I think we all would love to see him back.

He still has a lot to offer as a footballer and he seems to be dealing well with his recent issues.

We can't pay £10m for him tho. I'd look to adding an extra 10% on his resale or re-negotiate the payment over a few years

if we had a hard nose in charge we’d be calling spurs and levy for all sorts saying they’re blocking Dele from playing because they won’t waive the clause

Wasn't he visible in the first few bits of the Burnley 'behind the scenes' video talking to the crwd before kick off? looked like him.... might have been Johnny Depp....
