He played mostly in the middle in the 5-3-2 which is what I remember us using most of the time they played together up top.
That's also a terrible team with no supply line though. I think in a 4-4-2 with real wingers and God willing maybe a real ball progressor in midfield it could still work.

Frankly I'm not ruling out any ideas because Carlo Notarsedico couldn't get them to work.

I don't think you will see Benitez playing 442 I can't remember a time he ever did apart from bringing on Robbie Keane at the end of a match to play off of Torres.

Maybe not. But then I have a tough time putting together what exactly these signings are supposed to add up to. It would really suck to have another manager who is going to play the most vanilla 4-2-3-1 imaginable.
 
If we shift Bernard, bring in Gray/Towsend and sign another right midfielder it's good business.
We also have to remember we're going to be without Richarlison for the start of the season.
Could be for all the season.Worrying series of events seem to be happening to us.Hes already inherited a disjointed squad the fan base expect miraculous results or else.It will be a miracle if we finish in European qualifying position next season.
