Think its a mixture of that (had my 1st kid and got married a few years ago so have more stuff to contend with day to day) and also the simple fact that Everton have just grinded me down to the point im not that arsed anymore mate.

27 years without a trophy
More relegation scraps than top 4 finishes
Horrendous derby record
Seeing that lot win league titles and Champions Leagues whilst we stagnate in midtable
A lack of identity
A squad of unlikeable players

Honestly don't know how people can still be so emotionally invested in us these days.

Going to Goodison is just a routine for me these days and to take my lad to keep him interested in us and not end up a Kopite or City fan - there is no excitement building up to games like there used to be.

What will be will be in my eyes.
I understand what you're saying regarding the disinterest, I have felt that a lot the last 5 years.
It's just been that predictable. I had a season ticket for 3 years but life becomes busier, I still watch every game though and this season I have actually spent the most time being bothered and interacting due to our situation

Before you give up and accept the thought of relegation, please think about these things.

- there are 40,000 people who there week in week out + those that go home and away
- do you want your son to grow up being a championship side? In school etc? My son is 1 and I know I don't
- there are people who will be alive who have supported Everton for 80+ years, do you want their last memories to be of relegation?
- do you want to see us get through this and come through this adversity with a stronger attitude, a stronger frank lampard?
- do you want to host City, Liverpool, United at Bramley Moore or Luton, Preston etc?

The list is endless and I don't want any of those things to happen

Regardless of your thoughts of the squad, board etc this is about the badge, the club and we need to do anything we can to spread positivity, whether it be to your friends or online to drag this club round a corner

We are Everton and we belong no where near the championship.

When this lads back we’ve got attacking options of
DCL
Richy
Gray
Gordon
Townsend
Iwobi (who is apparently good now?)
Dele
all fighting over four places with Allan, VDB, Doucoure behind them!
…it’s so weird we were all fretting relegation this morning!

As I said in another thread. If a team rocked up to Goodison with that front line and those players on the bench (can add El Ghazi to that) we’d be bricking it.

Nonsense. Gray is one of the first names on the team sheet. Followed closely by Gordon.
But it’s all about competition for places. Gray like all the other forward players will have to produce their best to stay on the pitch. For instance Gomes was decent against Brentford and kept VDB out of the team at Newcastle. However he was poor there and was rightly replaced today.
