Charles Hawtrey
Player Valuation: £50m
His best goal last season came about after he stumbled on a run into the box. Says it all really.

I’d gladly ship him out for the right price if it meant we bring another in, but he has been a great signing for the price. As I said in another thread he has to essentially be marked so he will always be useful in that regard. Teams can’t leave him open because of his pace and powerful shot. Even if he isn’t scoring as frequently as when he started he is infinitely more valuable than the likes of Maupay and I’d stick Gray back at striker long before I’d give Neal another chance.I love this fella - cost buttons and has saved our bacon a few times. Can be frustrating as has been said - but never lacks effort in his own way. In an ideal world we'd keep him. Many more candidates to ship out before him - but no-one wants our stiffs cos of the ridiculous salaries we've paid them. Thanks to the incompetence of previous DOF's - all who have been a collective failure.
I disagree with this completely. I've never got the impression he's not trying out there, like some of the other dross that have donned the shirt the last 5 years or soHe seems to be a player that disimproves the longer he stays at a club.
When he arrived first it looked like we had signed a real footballer for buttons, the longer he stays it looks as if he is less interested and less effective.
The reason he gets the occasional worldy is cos he tries so often! The amount of times there were players in space and he's wellied it from 30+ yards and skied it. I actually like him more than most but, very frustratingI think he does try, he's just incredibly selfish. I know all the great strikers were also selfish but he isnt in that league.
Totally agree. Considering his supposed attitude issues, he generally really put a shift in and did track back to an extent.I disagree with this completely. I've never got the impression he's not trying out there, like some of the other dross that have donned the shirt the last 5 years or so
I think that's an unfair characterization of the lad.
Now whether he's effective game in/ game out, that's a debate worth having.

To be fair, his crosses and cutbacks have gone to waste for most of the last two seasons because we haven't had a centre forward on the pitch.Yeah totally agree. Takes far too many touches as well. The sad thing is he's got a great delivery and has got good cutbacks from the byline, has decent pace and can hold it up well for a winger. He has got everything to be a very good premier league player but unfortunately he just doesn't have the brain or the discipline to be more selfless.
No debate to be had really, 90% of the time he’s anonymousNow whether he's effective game in/ game out, that's a debate worth having.
He led the line better than 15 million Maupay though ....Disappointing hes still here
Same is happening to the fans is it him or Everton? He seems to be a player that disimproves the longer he stays at a club.

What’s disappointing about it?Disappointing hes still here
He slipped on what looked a greasy surface then managed to reset and score with a quality finish that’s even more impressive to me not something to be mocked, and secured what was a massive point against the champions. Wish Maupay a player who cost 10x what Gray did and was bought to score goals could come up with something like that. His best goal last season came about after he stumbled on a run into the box.
