He should be a backup to put on the bench. But it's not his fault that he's our best winger due to all the dross signed by different managers. And I'd much rather gamble on players for less than £2mil, rather than the multiple £20mil players that have taken us to the cleaners for years.

It’s an odd logic. It’s like the folk in the Dele Alli thread last year who said “yeah but he kept us up against a palace, changed the game, would have been relegated without him”….ignoring the lack of contribution by him and others the rest of the season was the reason we were almost relegated.

What’s he got , 1 assist and 4 goals (one a penalty in the dying minutes of a game we’re losing 4-0 to Man Utd) - in 30 games. Yes, 30 games.

Him starting so many games is one of the reasons we are where we are and why we create no chances and have no goal threat.

Can’t argue that he has more than paid back his 1.5 million fee with the goals he has scored last season and this season. Just frustrating player as he has plenty of ability and rapid pace to be a devastating player. But that’s why we only played a small fee for him, just has 1 good game every 5-6.
 
This is a big issue for us, as he's been an absolute passenger for weeks on end now but knows that he's starting every game. Skulks around the pitch and refuses to use his only real asset which is his pace. If he's not taking players on and crossing the ball, he's not needed in the side.

He’s a one in ten player, if only he and other forwards were one in five players. Sadly not.

4 goals from 52 shots. With his pace he should be getting 1v1 chances, and has never learned to get himself into the box for tap ins at the back stick etc. Which would all be totally fine if he could consistently cross well, or was more rugged and defensively minded.

Plenty of talent. No idea how to impact a football match positively. 1 banger per season does not a PL player make.

He never heard of 1 touch football. Slows the game and only plays for himself. Gordon did the same but takes a lot less touches at Newcastle. Perhaps coached properly ....

The thing is when he uses his pace or takes on defenders, he goes one step too far and inevitably gets dispossessed
