Maybe the true impact as a great signing comes when we sell him now for 12m profit and re-invest in better/more potential/more impact/more consistent

….I’m not a fan of complicated players & Geay us a complicated footballer. If we can turn a decent profit from selling him it will be good business but he could be a useful substitute next season if he’s not in demand.

If we could get 8-10 million for him I’d be happy to sell. On the proviso we actually replace with a bit of pace.

I would be so happy with £8-10mil as @MACCA75 suggests. Shocked and happy.

He and Iwobi are full on. If either one learns to cool their jets and look up for an open blue shirts they would be so much potent. Usually they both fizzle out with what seems like a stupid final decision.

The commentator yesterday said:

"Someone needs to take Iwobi's batteries out" and highlighted how he keeps running for the sake of it when sometimes just standing still in a good position makes more sense.

£12.5mil for Iwobi and £8-10mil for Gray and I'd be applauding Thelwell.

For the £1.5m we paid for him, I think Gray gets a fair bit of unfair criticism. He's clearly a talented player, but he is inconsistent - that mirrors why we got him cheap.

Personally, I think he's a very useful squad player and as such someone we should be looking to retain, but we need additional players coming in to supplement it.

I thought he did a reasonable job yesterday up front, like he has done in other fixtures. He's not a striker, but he kept running and did cause their defence problems.

I think hes a great squad player, a great change of pace winger to come on and burn a team on the counter. Thats also the price we paid for him. The problem is we just didnt sign the starting winger like we should have. Once we do, I think he will fill nicely into a role as a late game attacker and injury-replacement.

If we could pay 1.5 million for each good squad players we would be in a great place. He just shouldnt be first choice.

Has his moments but let’s put it this way… Would you see any other PL club spending actual money to buy him? I don’t think so

He’s a strange one because he has pace, and I think he is good technically (or shows he has potential to be) but he is not the most intelligent footballer - if he has that intelligence he’d be a great asset for us
