Maybe not but any other top striker will cost the club a lot more guarranteed with a transfer fee + wages so we surely now need to lower are expectations ( obviously we were never going to sign Klose ) any striker with a record like Ba who is a free agent and banged in goals the back end off the season is going to want them wages, it's no suprise at all , so that's two we've missed out on , the only players who won't demand 70k will be championship level Shayne Long type ,

No that's not what iam saying , iam saying the club are chasing the wrong player , players like Ba on a free will always want a ( larger) signing on fee and higher wages he's an international the same as Klose, scored goals in the Bundersliga, big wage and big name players come hand in hand , what we need to do is chase realistic targets or come the beginning of the season we will be left with no one as always , & if that extra 2 million is the difference in qualifying for Europe or winning the FA cup then it's more than worth it

it sets a bad precendent from the start. if he wants to come, he'll come. if he's motivated by money, he'll go to newcastle. i think this sort of deal is exactly what we should be going for given that there might not even be a transfer kitty to work with until players are sold. there arent exactly a load of strikers out there going cheap these days. the 2 million extra for europe/fa cup may appear worth it but if that's not putting all your eggs in one basket then i dont know what is. lets not forget this guy has only had half a season in the premier league and has several failed medicals on his resume. it's not what you would call a 'no-brainer'..

I don't know who Moyes has his eye on. For me Ba isn't worth £70+k a week but thats imo.
