Which is all well and good but he couldn't put the ball between the metal white things with the net attached to them and our current hero has an uncanny knack of doing this regularly.
I don't think anyone is saying they'd prefer Straq to Rom, but if he could hold the ball up and work harder then Rom would be a much better for it. And 2 goals so far this season isn't all that regular either.

He was literally one of the most determined players you could watch, that coupled with his lack of ability made him a cult favourite

Lacked ability ?
He could control a ball better than our current hero

I actually thought near the end of his spell he had improved quite dramatically,it takes time to adjust to a different culture and style of play, his performance in the win v Chelsea of leading the line held parity with any centre forward I've seen in a blue shirt in forty odd years,he ran them ragged for ninety minutes. If he had got another season I think he could have been a decent squad player, and I'm being serious!!

....or maybe we could just play a bit more to his strengths and we'd get more out of him.
On current form he isn't worth building a team around. Maybe he needs to improve his work rate and movement?? We are creating chances he just isn't getting into the right positions to take them. Naismith and Eto'o are both more likely to finish off a cross because of their movement.

I am afraid strikers get out of a game what they put in. At the minute it's Straq all day for me. So we have to play to rom's strengths at the minute, ok we need to bribe the opposition centre backs into not marking him and allow him a free run at goal. At the moment the guy is a statue and the he needs 3 touches to get it under. Complete liability at the moment and should be dropped until he get's his hunger back.

i love how moyes use to make utterly bizzare signings like this.

i mean, what was he even looking for? people like espen baadsen ha

Loved straq, wouldnt have a bad word said about him, if only more players played with his heart and desire sadly his ability wasnt up to standards, to be fair though he played in a utterly dire uncreative everton side so we didnt get a chance to see if he was a top slotter if given the chance.

The year at Everton was the best year of my career and I will never forget those amazing fans.

Scoring that goal was the sweetest thing that happened and I felt a huge rush of emotion as a result of all the effort I had put in to reach that moment

I would love to come back to England and even more so to come back to Everton.

The reason is because of all the lovely memories and how well I was treated by the supporters.

I really love Everton and will always have a soft spot for the place. I send all my best wishes to the club and its supporters for the new season..
