The reality is either there is a lot more happening in the background than we see (or let's be frank Usmanov is involved and will become more openly involved over the coming months) or Moshiri is somewhat delusional. There is a possibility both could be true.

There is a chance what's preventing him moving the club forward is incompetency of a board who will hopefully be replaced when the moment comes to buy out the rest of the shares.

I have to be frank here, nothing surprises me anymore. There are so many anomalees with Everton currently, so much smoke and mirrors it's very hard to rule anything in or out.

That's the most likely avenue here.

It may also be not to dupe the fans but Allardyce himself who wants a longer term deal. Let it be known where we intend to go in the summer and make sure he feels he has no chance come the summer.
