Righty ... Anyone with experience of this issue who can point in the right direction....

Mk7 diesel transit, 2.4 l ... starts on the key and runs if key kept in the start position, but cuts out immediately on release. (People have suggested ignition switch) .... BUT

If I rev it before releasing the switch the van runs normally. Which is why I don't suspect the ignition switch. Could be wrong, but would like done reasoning.

Happens cold or warm.

Have tried sprinkling sawdust around obviously. Also I've put a bag of rice in the glove box overnight.

injector issue, accelerator is over ruling idle feed. Could be linked to the starter. Time to get the multimeter out.

idles fine?

Injectors all replaced before I bought it, about 4k miles ago.

Idles fine.
I have little constructive to say in this thread apart from are you sure the injectors are okay? I believe that model will be from around 2006-2009 and uses the TDCI engine?

Depending how old, no dpf. Common rail engines are known to have injector issues. I speak from experience because I brought an 08 plate Kia a few years back which had the injectors replaced about 6mths before I brought it. Few months in I was having problems. Its the mechanism I believe. Just prone to issues.
