Diesel transit help

Is there a hissing noise when the engine is running? Check pipes for cracks and make sure all clips are tight. Also you might want to clean the throttle body in case its sticking and get the airflow meter checked out.

I have little constructive to say in this thread apart from are you sure the injectors are okay? I believe that model will be from around 2006-2009 and uses the TDCI engine?

Depending how old, no dpf. Common rail engines are known to have injector issues. I speak from experience because I brought an 08 plate Kia a few years back which had the injectors replaced about 6mths before I brought it. Few months in I was having problems. Its the mechanism I believe. Just prone to issues.
Correct. I don't have a dpf. It's one I'll bear in mind as I weigh up routes.

I'll get on that this afternoon, ta.

Like others have said, my money is on the injectors.

As you know, I`ve got a VW T5 Tdi, which has all manner of problems, inc this.

The injector seals were leaking, along with a myriad of other problems, giving me problems when starting.

If you have a diesel specialist near to you, I`d recommend letting them having a look.

In the long run, it`ll save you a lot of time, hassle and probably money too.

That engine, should be bread and butter to a specialist, as it`s got to be one of the most common on the road.

While poking around the engine bay listening for air leaks (none) and contemplating getting into the throttle body, I then went back into the cab. I turned the key a little and the engine cut out. The ignition switch (a tenner, thanks fleabay) is now my chief suspect.

Thanks for any suggestions so far, or in the future.
