Disappearing threads

Sometimes you haven't the time to look at a thread and decide to leave it until later to read.

Then you go back only to find it has disappeared, vanished, extinct, an ex-thread, as it were. This has occurred at least twice this week already.

Why does this happen instead of it just being locked if it has gotten out of hand?

NEA really but just wondering.

From my side, I certainly didn't mean for that thread to take that course, one initial tongue in cheek comment got taken the wrong way and a certain poster brought out the worst in me, I unreservedly apologise to the mods for wasting their time and bringing the site down to that level. You guys are good people and don't need that from more experienced posters.

Thought that was a harsh call by the ref there like. Always play to the whistle but thought well, you know, the man in black could have let the game flow a bit...
