Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Forgive me for prying, but have Threshold not discussed moving you and your daughter to a “ place of safety ?

The only reason I ask, is that my mates sister in law works for a women’s organisation in Liverpool, that looks after and supports women and children such as yourself. ( assuming you’re in Liverpool )

They provide women and children at risk from violent and abusive partners, with safe and secure accommodation.

I know from one of my previous jobs, thar the situation you describe is all too common and cuts right across the social spectrum.

I am genuinely shocked to hear what this excuse for a man is putting you and your daughter through.
You have already had good advice and nobody is saying it's easy but you should get out of that situation as fast as you can.
Have you tried contacting social services or even the samaritans who could possibly put you in touch with a women's refuse or something of that ilk.
I can only wish you the very best of luck and I hope your life improves and it will once you make that leap.
Please keep posting on here, somebody will hopefully give you more definitive advice than I.

The police also have dedicated departments dealing with “ domestic abuse “ who work hand in hand with all the relevant agencies too.

Good post mate.?
Practical advice is where it should be in this thread.
I feel I only offer moral support and platitudes and, although heartfelt, it is not really what people need for concrete support.
Well played sir!

In one of my previous jobs, I had quite a lot dealings with the families and victims of “ domestic abuse “.

I’d do the initial ground work, before the specialist agencies and departments took over.

In the bad old days, the lack of support was pretty horrendous tbh and also the whole judicial system / law enforcement side of things that dealt with it, was geared towards the man, if it was taken seriously in the first place.

It’s like night and day the way things are dealt with now, compared to then.

Sorry to hear about your situation and also very angry at the way you've been treated. Sadly, it's all too common.

You need to get away from this monster as soon as possible. I understand your reluctance to give up the tenancy and hopefully you won't have to, but you and your daughter's health should be the priority, so you might have to seriously consider doing that if it's the only way to get away from him.

My heart goes out to you. From reading your previous posts, you're clearly one of the good ones.

Look after yourself Twinkle. X ?

Thank you for all the lovely replies, it’s nice to unload myself at times as I am so isolated from everyone. You have all been really supportive and you have no idea how this forum has been a godsend in my most darkest times. I don’t tend to post as much as I would like as I get terrible brain fog and can’t get my feelings or thoughts across very well.
I really do appreciate you lovely people and do wish you from the bottom of my heart a Merry Christmas xx

Don't sell yourself short mate, messages of support and knowing there is someone listening at the other end will give a lift to people reaching out.
