Absolutely thrilled to see the big man get a new contract so quickly. Hopefully after a few years the more excitable members of the fanbase will mature and realise just how good Distin has been for us. Whilst he may have started to decline a little this season he still had plenty of performances at a level Alcaraz could never hope to reach, and I can't blame him for wanting out after Martinez started picking the birdman to start games.
Still can't believe how cheap he was, and how old he was, when he came to us. We got FAR more than our money's worth in that deal.
At the time I didnt think he was cheap, I thought we got ripped off personally.
He sure showed me.
A great player for us, sure he had his moments, the Semi sticks out clearly, but overall a wonderful signing who gave us many, many years of service.
