Short tifo video 'gunshots and goalposts' on Irelands greatest ever club team Belfast Celtic, fought everyone off the pitch just to be allowed to play football and beat everyone on it including their Glasgow namesake and the Scottish national team and produced one giant of a man who instead of acclaim had 1 of the saddest stories in world football - 'Irish and Man Utd captain, Real Betis' only ever la liga winning manager and Barcelonas most important manager Patrick 'Patricio' O'Connell'.(plenty of youtube vids on o'connell) died penny less and found in an unmarked grave.

Thanks for that - really depressing what went on. Derry City was defunct for many years but now leads the ROI Premier League. The Irish League wouldn't take them back and they have been a non-sectarian credit to the city since joining the LOI

Gunshots at a football match ffs

If they ever got Belfast Celtic back to life (unlikely I know) we would welcome them into the LOI

Theres a Derry one too, leading to Bloody Sunday and the riots which made it impossible for them to continue. Gunshots lol Cliftonville have had blast bombs threw at them. Its always been a vile league. When Larne got bought over the other year big Sam was with us and hes a good mate of their then new owner, there was talk of us playing them to open their new improved, expanded ground to try and attract both communities, instead they caved and played to their fanbase and invited rangers instead.

Thanks Earwig those were really succinct and educational for me. I still have scarves I swapped with Derry fans in the 80s. Huge game coming up next Friday with Rovers.

Couldnt be closer - at least Rovers at home. Heres another 2 for you Blue.Although somehow they left out the "riot" in the friendly 84 centenary match between cliftonville and celtic - when cops fired into the crowd injuring 25 that night - was there that night - proper, proper scary.
