I wouldn’t be surprised if Lewis Gibson has already leapfrogged him in the pecking order, and i’d also imagine Gbamin would be selected as a CB ahead of Holgate.

Alright, French title winner in a side other than PSG then.

Helped them to the semi-final of the Champions League too.

He can cover both full back spots, is a France international, European experience and the fee reported isn’t bad at all. Yeah it’d preferable if he was couple years younger I suppose but it means if he’s good we probably move Seamus on at the end of the season and if Kenny has been a success at Schalke then we’ve got a young RB ready to come in to battle for the spot with Sidibé.

Quite pleased about this. IMO we still need to keep hold of Holgate as RB and CB cover though. After Mina and Keane we are still woefully short of defensive options and if either of those has the luck with injuries they had last year we mighy be stuggling. Pretty chilled that Brands has it covered tho

Gibson played a lot more than Foulds over pre season, Foulds played left back in the couple appearances he had. Would say Gibson is earmarked as the back up from the U23s

....i’m not a fan of young players going on loan, very few come back and have a career with us. I think the best youngsters stay because the Manager wants access to them. Better they stay, work with Silva and the first teamers.
