In what way mate....?

One is a world cup winning second choice right back and the other is Cuco Martina. Nothing in common as footballers so....

In terms of hes not for the future and will be only a back up.

In terms of footballing ability am sure Sidibe is streets ahead.

Im happy we are getting a right back in but am being selfish and would of liked a younger player with potential to be a starter next season.

He's 26/27 mate, he is going into his prime. If he stays fit then should be competing with Coleman not being a back up. Digne wasn't even in the France squad that won the world cup. If he stays fit it could be right back sorted for another 4/5 years. How isn't that looking ahead?

Right back isn't a priority just now anyway, this is a perfect deal for us. Loan, competition for Coleman. No JJK or Holgate at RB

I'm only going with what I heave read from people as I basically know nothing about him as don't watch that French muck.

I heard he had a very serious injury and has never really recovered from it, in terms of performances and physical ability.

His age is fine and I like the way he's in the French squad but I do have reservations about it. Linking him with cuco was abit edgy and out of order from myself.

I hope he slots in and pushes Coleman. We seen when Kenny played last season, once Coleman got back in to the starting line up his performances improved.

Why risk potential v proven RB. We can get him on loan so we can see if he adapts to the PL then if he does then £13m is a bargain. We can start getting potential once the team is stronger. We have all our potential on loan and sitting in the U23's. A reason why we ought to get a more experienced striker in case it takes Kean a while to settle.

I think this is why it is 50/50 and most don't want him. We have already been burned by one of our summer transfers in and answers why he was so cheap. The lad is clearly a quality player, but these opinions come from before his knee injury. Lets not forget Coleman isn't the same player he was since he returned from his injury.

Hence loaning him as a pre-caution.

Really like the sound of this deal if it goes through as reported. Win-win and reduces the risk if his knees actually fall off halfway through the season. If all goes well for him injury and form wise, we could be looking at a very good RB for the next few years (love you Séamus lad). Brands and Silva have a knack for taking these players suffering from form and morale dips and turning it around to the class they can actually produce and I’m fully here for it
