Do we have the worst attack in the league?

Thing is, all strikers miss chances, even good chances. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Maupay should have scored those chances but we’re creating so few good chances in a game they basically can’t miss or they won’t get another chance the entire game. It’s not like they’re missing sitter after sitter.

We need to create more chances at the end of the day and our strikers will score more goals.

That's the issue. Can't create but when we do, it needs to be scored.

Losing Richy has been a disaster for us, we can’t possibility replace what he gave us the passion, the goals, his song. It’s not as though he is playing every week for them. Also, who has replaced Duncan’s coaching, missing having him around the club these days.

True but we've been short in those areas for years.

The Icelandic Babysitter is the only midfielder we've had in probably a decade to score more than 5 goals in a season for us.
Think the problem is we relied on a very select few players to contribute goals and assists, big chances to the team. Siggi probably between a 5/10 goal and 5 assist a season player, James in his season 6 goal 4 assists, Richarlison between 10/15 goals, relied on Digne to creat chances a lot as well.

There wasn’t really much else from any of the players in the team. Siggi, James had flaws and there were good arguements to move them on but the problem was we replaced them with players with no history (or if we’re honest) any hope of getting close to the goals assists they got. That’s left us with a team with no threat.

Absolutely this, and we have not had any one that compares to Siggi dead ball ability, which is not very good these days.

But saying that...those 2 chances yesterday for Dom and Iwobi were disgusting misses.

Undoubtedly. We are horrible to watch going forward. It’s the same patterns of play over and over. Slow, predictable and rigid. The amount of backwards passing displayed yesterday was embarrassing. Compare that to Leicester. They weren’t perfect in the ball and we pinched it a few times but they moved the ball with a bit of pace. Maddison was receiving the ball and popping it into players close or straight into Daka and moving into space again looking for the return ball. They looked levels about anything we could produce on the ball and that’s including the game we played vs palace.

What makes my piss boil is they will have one good game and start thinking they're big time. There is an awful complacent mentality at this club. Its like we'll hit mid table and they've made it. Get the bunting out.
Talk is cheap. And i hate the way a lot of our players talk crap after 1 decent result. Start talking after a dozen or so decent results. Not one.

Lots of the fans do this too. I also think Lampard's programme notes from yesterday have a hint of this as well.

We need someone who can pass through the lines from the base of midfield- gareth barry from the martinez era - we really struggle to play it forward and that hampers the already admittedly bang average front line who aren’t good enough to conjure chances out of nothing.
