Player Valuation: £150m
I think we all know that the transfer window went west on us. There's no polishing this up to try and make it shine. Whether it was explicit or implicit, we were all left with the impression from the snippets the new guard left us that this would be a momentous summer in terms of player trading. And that's where this thread comes in.

The vision of where we are being taken by these people on and off the field remains very vague. There's been no attempt to spell out what the process is here; what the preferred running order is between squad investment and getting things right in terms of a new stadium and commercial improvements generally; what are the short to medium term objectives being set?

I've argued since Moshiri's arrival that we need a lot more detail from him regarding what is to come and what approximate timetable he is working to. If this had been done previously then the shock of the late summer inactivity in the market and the loss of confidence and credibility for him that goes with it could have been avoided. I dont see any lines of communication whatsoever being built up to bridge what the club are thinking and our understanding of it. The vacuum instead is filled by a narrative built up by the msm and well meaning bloggers which are repeated and become established as fact when they really are just wild speculation. Why should we have to put up with that communications hangover from the Kenwright era?

So, do we now need a big sit down between club and fans representatives or even Moshiri with a respected reporter for an in depth interview about what he's thinking?

Yes Dave I agree with all of that.

I don't think a sit down in an official capacity is unreasonable at all.

One thing I would be wary of, is Evertons natural trust issues.

Unfortunately they are a privately owned company so in theory we are just customers. They want to keep the customers happy, but aren't obliged to leak their business plans to shareholders, fans and journalists.

That said, a happy medium should be reached.

We need to have his plan in public so we can back it with no surprises instead of guessing and being told one thing by press and then contradiction when nothing works out.

Thanks mate.

I'm still astounded that a man has come in here to one of the most august football institutions in England (and therefore the world) and given us a couple of glib soundbites and thought that was enough.

Can you imagine any of England's other great football institutions putting up with that? Not a chance he'd have taken over at Arsenal, United, Liverpool or Spurs...clubs who I'd suggest are historically along with us the greatest institutions in English football.

He needs to step up.

As nice & informative as this would be, there's absolutely no way it wouldn't turn into a rehearsed, bland, PR statement about "bright futures" and "behind the scenes action".

Our alternative statement of intent (since the transfer window was a statement of mediocrity) is going to be news on a new stadium. We know it's in the works, we just have no idea how it's going to turn out. The club, hopefully learning from past failures, is going to be tight-lipped on this until it's 100% guaranteed.

We'll have no explanations, excuses or apologies from the club, so, being the top fans we are, we'll just to bring our boo-vuzelas (I know... sorry) to every Everton match - including all the youth & ladies teams.

Or we could storm finch farm in a blaze of glory and refuse to surrender until we get signed shirts, some free pizza and access to Sissoko's private jet.

Bill and Enstone have just got to go. Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. Understandable Sissoko chose spurs over us he has French team mates there. They're in the champions league but are we leaving transfers till the last day. It was a panic buy by spurs and panic bid by us just useless. Koeman was surely promised better things than this? Oh ye sell your prize asset a week before the season and then your able to buy a few players

As a vital stakeholder our concerns should be treated with a duty of care.

He's said a handful of words, we haven't a clue what he's got planned.

I was expecting this transfer window to act as statement to us fans, sadly thst hasn't happened.

As it stands for me it was the same as before.

Bill Kenwright has also caused some issues again. Telling fans he would make our dreams to come true. The only person dream he's made come true is his, by lining his pockets and still allowing him to stay on his ego train that he never wants to get off.

Yes, actually, I think it's time.

'Actions speak louder than words'. Ok, fair enough, but the actions (while totally fine) weren't exactly mindblowing. We have all this speculation, and have for months, but very little to show for it (Koeman being an exception...and Williams). Moshiri's reputation among the fanbase is probably not as steady as it was a week ago. He should make a statement outlining his intent for the club. Not necessarily promises or explanations, a simple statement comforting the fans would go far, I suspect.

Our PR/marketing does not seem to have improved even one iota since he's taken over. That worries me.

Sitting around watching SSN by all accounts and probably still making files on every fan.... Hi Guys

Completely agree Dave, yesterday and the summer in general has caused doubts about the new regime. We need a statement of intent very soon or I believe the murmurs of discontent will grow if displays on the field begin to suffer.
