Think he's lucky that the majority of the fanbase at the moment is so 'gunshy'.
He's staying not because we have any faith in him, rather we can't keep sacking managers because it hasn't worked so far.
Yeah the we cant keep sacking managers line wont work, that wont keep us in the premier league

How ridiculous. You have an owner who loves the club and has invested heavily in the club, he's a great owner and only has the clubs interests at heart, you should be absolutely grateful for his investment and effort. Calling for new ownership as if it's like changing manager is laughable.
We have the worst owner in the league. He took an established PL team of 60 odd years to the brink of relegation after spending hundreds of millions. If that isn't utter incompetence, then I dont know what is.

Our recruitment is a disgrace. We deserve to go down over it. Nothing improves at this club until Moshiri and Kenwright go because leadership comes from the top.

Moshiri is a victim of giving too much credence to fan opinion, the appointment of the current manager being a prime example.

Yes because every time we have sacked a manager after a poor run it’s worked out perfectly !!!!
So let’s never change manager again cos that hasn’t worked the last few times! It’s a bit more than a poor run. Ok let’s stick with the manager who prioritised (rightly imo) the league game at the expense of the cup but lost by 3 goals again. Against BOURNEMOUTH!

I think a lot of us fans dislike the fact that he left Billy Liar in charge of the club after buying it, although there is lots of truth that the proven liar woudn’t have sold the club unless he still controlled it.

A buoyant club? We went from second in the league to near the bottom in the second half of the season while the Italian watched his son manage the team, while he shrugged his shoulders, raised his eyebrows and sipped his coffee on the touch line and finally “Did one” to Real Madrid his comfort home, where money buys teams.
You think we could have stayed second that season?

Lol.

We slipped back to where we really should have been.

The point being that when Benitez took over we were right to then harbour hopes of a midtable finish.

But after last season we are kidding ourselves to believe we should be near midtable. You cant sell a quality player like Richarlison, not replace him, then still expect to be competitive.

We were one of the favourtites to go down the moment the transfer window shut and we had no strikers worthy of the name.

The only option we have - short of destabilising the club again with another managerial sacking - is to buy a striker and a creative player in January and see how that affects things.

Benitez inherited a buoyant club from Ancelotti.

There's no comparison IMO.
A club that finished 12th and 10th under one of the most successful managers of the modern era is hardly buoyant. We have been on a slide for a while. We need a proven manager not a nice guy that we hope will get better. We havent got enough room to play about with

This is it for me, I don't care how he's done at Spurs since but while he was here he was crucial. You almost need a like for like replacement to not be in serious trouble.

Then they went and bought Maupay.

Lampard has got good pull to get in players, I just hope we get something from the Wolves and Brighton games to be able to see it in action in the Jan window.

If we still have 14 points from the next 3 games then he'll probably get the boot and that would be on balance fair - well say the next 4 games after the break, which will be half a season. We need at least 17/18 points by then, anything under will be very bleak.

People calling for his head now are way too premature. One of the reasons why financially we are in this mess is because we've blown near 100 million hiring and firing managers and staff. Funny how the ones that shout loudest for the manager to go are the same ones that also go berserk that we have no money to get in players...
