Apologies if this has been mentioned but I'm watching a documentary on Netflix called 14 Peaks. Its amazing. About a former Gurkha who climbs the 14 mountains above 8000m in 7 months. Brilliant.

Fantastic 6 part series focusing on a number of scientific endeavours and the incredible support structures and personnel in Antarctica including NZ's Scott base, a whale tracking team and a US coastguard icebreaker.
You know all this amazing stuff goes on down there but its really compelling seeing the teams in action, the challenges they face and the ingenuity and courage to overcome them in an environment that often looks so benign but can turn lethal in minutes.

Great stuff, on Disney+.

….The Rescue - amazing documentary about the rescue of the Thai boys football team from a flooded cave. I watched it on Disney+, well worth it if you have access.

Just finished watching The Man Who Bought Cricket on Sky Documentary. about Allen Stanford. How on earth did English cricket get taken in by one of the world's biggest fraudster.

I really enjoyed Lucy Worsley's, History's Biggest Fibs. 2 Series, 6 episodes. Covers various key periods. Blitz Spirit by the same presenter was great, as well. If you have access to iPlayer, there's loads on there. Wolf Hall is a drama - fantastic show and covers the Henry VIII. Watched a great three episode series on the English Civil War a wee while back. Should still be on there.

Oh, and if you haven't seen Peter Jackson's, They shall not grow old, it's a must see. Colourised, lip-synced etc. It's incredible and makes everything so much more poignant.

Anyone watch The Devils Advocate?sky Documentaries. About Giovanni Di Stefano? Watch it if not, its fascinating if you are interested in law, crime, fraud type stuff.
A proper danger, lawyer who represented Sadam Husain, Harold Shipman and loads of bad people all over the globe but he was a total conman

I usually watch this through once a year, and it always feels revelatory. Roman Britain through to post war UK. Hours of fascinating insight into huge nexus events and intimate human stories. This would be my desert island DVD.
