From JFK to 9/11 - Everything is a rich man's trick

This is crackers - a huge all-encompassing conspiracy theory of the recorded history 20th century being a huge LIE, preached by a strangely attired fellow in his nan's armchair. Loads of interesting archive footage and some wild ideas, which are at the least very entertaining. It's got secret societies of bankers and industrialists running the world since WW1 and rubbing out people who they didn't feel toed their line.

Or something.

When you have to confirm you want to see the video 3 TIMES you know it's gonna be the unbridled truth haha

Compelling and beautifully made examination of the incredible work of the Sherpa people of the Himalayas in facilitating the aspirations of climbers, and the resulting risks and tensions, culminating in a tragic loss on the mountain.

Highly recommended.

On Netflix but comes off in a few days.
That was a great story.

On the same theme, did anyone catch this one over the weekend?

I found them to be a strange family, tbh.

They've been in control since they took over the banks. Control the money, control the people.

Easy Riders, Raging Bulls

A film version of the superb Peter Biskind book, this cracking documentary charts the creative zenith of Hollywood from 1969 to 1980. The era when visionary directors and writers were given a blank slate by the studios in an attempt to capture the youth market from TV, and how they gave us the greatest American culture we're ever likely to see.
All the key players are featured - Scorcese, Spielberg, Lucas, Coppola, Altman, Peckinpah, Bogdanovic, Hopper, Friedkin, Polanski.

A heavy sprinkling of cocaine and booze, some indelible images and sounds that are seared in our collective memories, and a brilliant account of how risk-taking was encouraged and produced greatness.
If you love movies then the 70's is the true decade of delights.

THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN LIVES

"Super" documentary this. For some unfathomable reason, a Superman movie was almost made in the late 90's starring Forest Gump's older dozier brudda Nicolas Cage. It's a fascinating story of how thick Hollywood executives truly are and how a hugely popular franchise was almost completely derailed with some of the worst choices ever made by a studio. I mean the Superman movies Warner Brothers have made over the last ten years haven't been the greatest, but the Tim Burton one would have been truly horrendous

Features Tim Burton... and of course professional Hollywood cocaine enthusiast Jon Peters.... Man he's an egotistical imbecile... bet he's a kopite as well.... proper blert him. You only have to see Kevin Smith's description of his experiences writing a draft of the screenplay and the insane demands (Producer) Peters made of him....

Peters presented Smith with three rules, such as wanting Superman to wear an all-black suit, feeling the more traditional suit was "too faggy"; not wanting to see Superman fly, saying that Superman would "look like an overgrown Boy Scout." (In order to deal with this, Smith wrote Superman flying as "a red-and-blue blur in flight, creating a sonic boom every time he flew."); and have Superman fight a giant spider in the third act.

Smith was right when he said in Hollywood, you failed upwards....

Did he get his way into production by professional merit or just servicing Barbara Streisand? ?

Seems he got by with no actual talent... like a lot of Hollywood people... including Nic Cage.....

Peters is a bad tit like....

Here's Kevin Smith breaking it down. He's a brilliant storyteller, the creative process of that unmade Superman movie would made a fantastic comedy in his hands

Ahem, be very very careful about what you say about Saint Nic please.

Give him a free reign and no one can over act like him.

Oh, and he also won an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas.

So there.
