I would say I agree about De Boers track record not being the most convincing.
As for judging him for what's happened at Inter is a little rough IMO. That club is a disaster and mismanaged. Look what they did to Roberto and De Boer did not even get three months as he was promised bringing in a whole new philosophy.

...it's not straightforward to judge. A player who is not performing for his current club might have dovetailed well with us.

As far as i'm aware (which isn't very far) he was very interested in us, but we never gave him a sniff as you say.
Who's to say we didn't put in a bid?
I'm sure we registered serious interest/bid for quite a few players that we don't have a clue about.
