We stuck with Anichebe for 7 years. 131 PL games 18 goals. I could have told you after a year he wasn’t the new Shearer.

On a more serious note... Nothing against the lad - as I said in a previous post, at the moment, he can do a job of moving players around if he puts a shift in and will get the odd goal. It’s up to him to keep improving, when selected, and hopefully it will click. Belief, mentality and a good work ethic will, in my opinion, be vital for him.

Any player has the potential to make it. Vardy was playing for the dog & duck a few years ago and ended up a PL winner, England international and breaking an incredible RVN record.

He will always, as any blue wearing the shirt, get my full support.

Right now if you had to take a punt you´d say he´s more likely to be Anichebe than Shearer. The managers obviously like something in Calvert-Lewin. I personally think he has to develop a hell of a lot over the coming years.

Is he capable of it? In my eyes he isn´t but I´m always happy to be proved wrong in cases like this.

As a back up striker in my opinion he is fine if we can get someone in who will score 20-25 DCL needs to be able to come off the bench and start the occasional game and get 5-10 I think he is nearly at this level now. In our position there is no way we would be able to keep 2 top rate strikers happy unless we changed tactics and played 2 upfront. So hopefully either in the window or the summer we get our 20-25 goal player in and DCL can be his back up. He does miss chances but that will come in time.

Equivilent of 32 games 8 goals 8 assists

Based upon that he would have about 9goals and 9 assists over a season not to mention daft disallowed goals and him developing through those games.

If hes a 10 goal and 10 assist forward now then he may become a 12 goal and assist player at 22...and then going forward continue to improve.

He is improving over the season.

If he plays in the rest of the games he is bound to score a goal or three before the end. He probably is not up to the standard of player we need and will surely have to pay heavily for in the close season. As someone said, maybe just a back up?

Unfair to leave him to lead the line on his own at this stage - but I think he has what it takes and will grow to be a top drawer centre forward.
He never gives up and is brave as a lion. Just play Cenk next to him in all our home games.

He reminds me more of Heskey.

Honestly think every aspect of his game is good except for finishing and positioning but alas they're two of the most important traits for a forward.

I'm happy with his performances and team play but for once I just need to see him latch onto the ball at the far post, confidently slot a 1v1 or create some space for himself and score before I'll fully start to believe.
