What I'm saying is that if we do they shouldn't just walk into the team
They must prove they deserve it more than DCL, because he HAS proven that he deserves the position due to his efforts this season
And if they don't, the job must remain Doms, otherwise what's the point in anyone trying hard if they're just going to have the opportunity snatched away when they've proven themselves worthy?
Hopefully even the dimmest of posters can grasp that (Although I won't hold my breath)

I seem to have been transported into a parallel universe here. A striker who has scored what.... 2 in the last 10? Seems to only be stoppable by Pele. It's bonkers

It really wouldn't. If we get the right striker in the summer, then he'll be first choice, because we simply need more goals from our striker. DCL will understand the footballing reasons for that and will still work hard to get back into the team, knowing that he needs to improve that aspect of his game if he wants to make it at this club.
