You sure? So richy wasn’t lm Walcott right and tuson up top? You know he hadn’t played footy for 6 months because of injury and had no pre season don’t you?
Pretty sure it was Bournemouth he came on and Fulham and started to get games after his appearance against Leicester

Bernard's first game was when he came on as sub in the home defeat against West Ham. It was after the September International break.

How on gods green earth do you know what he was instructed to do? He was dominated , it’s like saying Lukaku was told to stop Keane from scoring when playing against us so I’m that aspect he done really well. Strikers are there to get goals or to create them , it’s leterally the main person any team looks to score

Watching the game with my own two eyes mate. He was barely ever on Matip.

I'm fed up. It's been a crappy day, RS winning, my team got leathered again, winter really kicking in here but I thought I would pop across to a few threads that would make me feel things are good in the world. DCL isn't everyone's cup of tea but I think we have a gem, next year or two he will become a really good striker for us. The RS have some talent up front but DCL is one who I think will come good.

Did the bedwetters like @Tel001 see the huge impact a prolific goalscorer had on a Liverpool side there for the taking????

Yeah.... VVD had his work cut out didn't he. Maybe if Poch went for llorente who pinned the centre halves against Ajax and created space for the attacking midfielders then spurs could have won that game.

France won 2 world cups with non goalscoring numbers 9's....Stephan Guivarc’h and Giroud.... basically their job was to press, occupy and hold up the ball for the attacking midfielders to profit.

...it’s a good point. It really does depend on the team model and whether there’s a reliance on a prolific goalscorer. Graeme Sharp was a focal point in that great Everton team of the mid-80s. Sharp contributed goals but wasn’t prolific, but Sheedy, Steven, Heath, Lineker and Gray benefited from his play.

I always say, tactics is lots to do with what the team does with the ball and without the ball. Colin Harvey’s teams played 2 up front in possession, but the no10 became a midfielder when the ball was lost.

Bedwetters for wanting a better footballer than DCL up front. The low expectations are astonishing.

Kane hasn’t played for about two months mate and wasn’t match fit. Also you forgot to mention the team that won and their winger that scores heaps along with their back up striker that scores when called upon.

Again for the hundredth time, France have Mbappe and Griezmann two of the best players in Europe and have one of the best midfields in international football

It's not even about the goals for with DCL, his all round game isn't good enough right now. Some weeks he can be an absolute handful but you need more than that if you're a good team.
