I am a DCL fan and I believe he’ll come good with more experience and a settled team, but you only need to look at Abraham’s goal to see where DCL lacks right now.

...I think there was more of a contrast with the Romanian striker who went to war with the English CBs, played like the game really mattered and was very effective influencing the match.

DCL is nowhere near ready to be leading our attack. If you want someone whose several years ahead of him, has all his attributes but is much more forceful and aggressive, then take a look at Ched Adams at Birmingham. Only 24, scored 25 goals last season. Southampton are after him but surely we'd be a more attractive option.

Shane Long is 32 years old and isn't going to get any better than what he currently is

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is ten years younger and will continue to improve

He will start slotting next season if he's given the chance, I'm sure of it, he just needs to put a couple away early doors and he'll be off to the races

But Shane long was doing the same at the same age and it’s far more likely that DCL will turn out like him than Kane as many seem to think he will

I can

Last season, Dom averaged a goal every 247 minutes, thats a goal every 2.7 games

Lets say he IS our starting striker next season and starts 35 games(take 5/6 away for a rest or injury, could be more with cup runs)
Lets say he averages maybe 75 minutes every one of those 35 games.
Thats 2625 minutes of football he could get next season
2625 devided by the 247 = 10.6 goals

And thats without him improving on his average goals per minute from last season (he may also get a chance on penaltys with sigurdssons poor record)

This is why stats can’t be used imo , he averages a goal every 2.7 games but when he had a run of 13 starts , the longest run he’s had so far ... he scored none and struggled to get even a shot on target in a lot of them . That’s what my eyes tell me

...a beast in the air, but he gets his head to ball rather than heading the ball. It should be his most productive goalscoring area.

Glad you also noticed , winning arial duels which is one of his better stats means getting your head on the ball, doesn’t take into account that the header may have no quality on it and go straight to the opposition keeper for example.

His finishing is a real frustration. He has plenty going in his favour but if he wants to have a succesful career then he needs to be a threat in the box.
if your a striker who's finishing is 'frustrating' then you should not be leading a premier league front line at all.
