Yes ... I’m sure if we all got behind Baxter etc they would all belive I’m themselves and be in the England team. Cheering DCL and singing his name won’t make him become a decent finisher will it? And if that doesn’t work I’m pretty sure posting positive comments on the internet wont change much either

Giving him a run in Tosun's central position would help

No but it might help instil some confidence in a 21-year-old who is doing more with his life than any of us, might it?
I don't know what's happened to our fanbase in the last 10 years, but I don't like it.
Can only speak for myself but 10 years ago i would get excited when it was game time, now the garbage this team serves up its becoming more of a chore to watch them
Obviously it feeds off each other.
But I think it's just the social media/internet age that's made it worse.
DCL is a promising young player. He has played more than most at his age because he's had to. In the main, he's done well. He isn't a winger and he should not be played there.
He needs to improve his finishing but so far this season he's scored when he's been in a position to do so, bar one chance against Huddersfield. The signs are there that he's improving physically as well.

It's always been the same mate. I stopped going the game in 1988 when we started booing Reidy and Sheeds was getting called out for being lazy. We'd only won the league the previous season ffs.
He may be doing more with his life than me but that’s neither here nor there. He can’t finish and isn’t good enough, that’s the reality. This is a footy forum and a DCL thread. Where else is it appropriate to say he’s crap?
He's not crap, though.
He's not a world beater, don't think anyone would suggest otherwise.
But he's a young player learning the game at the highest level and has always performed with 100% effort and commitment, more than a lot of other players have.
He's scored the winner in a World Cup under-21 final and last season was thrown in at the deep end due to our dreadful transfer business, and has also been shunted out wide because of the fact he will work hard wherever he is played and has pace, strength and the ability to get on the end of things.
Nobody is saying he doesn't have improvements to make. Nobody is saying he should be part of our team if we were going for the league title. But we aren't doing that. And he's a useful player in the squad.
