Just not a natural finisher, has to be in a player can't be taught. He's got decent pace and physique and didn't cost much so worth keeping for if we ever do sign a top finisher who could play off what he can create.

True.Going back a bit,but Hughes couldn't hit a barn door for Barcelona but laid on goal after goal for Lineker.
The common one is Harry Kane not being prolific until he was like 22/23 or whatever. But another which could be a bit more appropriate in terms of physical attributes is Aubameyang. He was getting DCL numbers until he was 23 and in a way less challenging league (Ligue 1).

Disclaimer - Not saying DCL is the next Aubameyang.

People need to remember where he came from - League One. He basically cost nothing, we have players in the u21s like Josh Bowler who cost twice as much. Get behind the lad, everything about him is good apart from his finishing and that can get better with experience. He should be out on loan at a top Champo or low level Prem team getting that. Anyone at the game slagging him off needs to give their head a wobble

..he’s currently at a low Premiership team, never makes sense why we would provide a player that improves one of our rivals. Also, he’s possibly the best CF option we have at this point in time.

Calvert Lewis isn’t mark hughes. Lukaku wasn’t in the same class as Hughes in games where the chips are down.
If he can't finish then that's the only worthwhile role for him in the team.He has the physique so with a bit more controlled aggression in his game he could make a decent target man...agree about Lukaku for a big man he goes missing far too often.

It makes absolutely no difference who he played for 3 years ago. He's been a regular PL player for very nearly 2 years now, and I will judge him as such. He isn't a competition winner, he isn't a YTS lad who's been pressed into action in an emergency, he's a fully fledged member of our squad, who is now of an age and level of experience where he needs to show that he's ready to push on. In fairness, there have been some signs that he is getting there, but he shouldn't be treated differently to anyone else just because we signed him from Sheffield United.

There is a difference between slagging him off and having the view point that he is nowhere near good enough for a half decent premier team. I would disagree with you that everthing apart from his finishing is good. I feel he spends half his time on his ass on his hold up play. He isnt physical enough for his size and his touch is average.
