I do not understand this desire to get Kean into the team just now.
He clearly is not ready yet or close to it. The last thing he needs is to be thrown in and fail miserably even though it may not be his fault.

I think the manager is being sensible with him, putting him into the team and taking him back out again.
I could see him getting a regular start at the back end of the season but maybe not before that.

He is a young lad with no English settling into a new country, a new city and a new club. If the team were on top form it would be easier for him but he is being asked to improve a misfiring team and that he won't do.

Stop talking sense lad

Proved it. Championship quality player at best.

If he ends the season on 25-30 goals for us, then, and ONLY then will I even consider him good enough for Everton. Our fan base is so fickle.

Tap ins are all about movement away from defenders, you will see in the main DCL does the opposite when we are in attacking third. His instinct is to get close to gain a physical advantage over defenders, alright for lower leagues not the prem.

This was notciable difference in that goal, almost looked like he was fighting the urge to stick to the defender to me lol

I'd be so pleased if he hit his stride

He's a funny one really and I'll go back on other things I've indicated just to be a bit contrary.

Against weaker PL teams he doesn't perform well enough. He's an odd one that lower league opponents he looks potent against and top PL teams he looks a handful against but it's those games in and around us he has not done enough. People used to have a go at Lukaku for being a flat track bully, but in truth having a guy who scores lots against sides around you is very valuable in this league.

Silva seems to be reticent to play to his strengths. He is never going to be silky or massively cute in his approach. His hold up play is ok but little more than that. Really he needs balls played up to him early and crosses put into the box early. I am surprised we don't do more of the former. You will hit a glass ceiling with such an approach, but it's a glass ceiling well above where we are at now.

The hope will be those two goals will give him confidence that he can kick on with going forward. Lets wait and see, but obviously well done to him yesterday.

I will take some issue with the "found his level" comments though. Does that mean all the other players who didn't score, like Richarlinson are lower than championship level? If he was scoring 2 goals a week in the championship very quickly he would be signed for a team playing at a higher level. Sometimes you have to show a bit of humility and say he had a good game and clearly has some abilities.
NO.

DCL has never shown any sort of consistent form over many dozen games to suggest he is good enough at prem level.
Richarlison has.

Last night showed that DCL is a good footballer who should be competing at Championship level.

We already know that Richarlison is way above that level.

I don't understand this analysis. If you are isolating last night then surely it shows he's substantially too good for that level, as he'd be getting 2 goals a game at that level.

I agree with you in relation to the last 12 games or whatever, thats fair. He needs to score over a much broader sample size. However it surely makes more sense to say he will struggle in spite of last nights brace, not because of it?

But DCL got 2 goals and Richarlison was poor.
