See, you say that after one match but what about the previous 20 home games where he only produced 2 goals.

He was very good today. Ran his socks off, got his reward with a couple scrappy goals. He’s not a classy striker, but he can add value and definitely looks better with some support with him. Long may it continue. I still have doubts that he’ll ever be consistent though. Track record is what it is.

Nope I have always said it. WHat you all seem to miss is what he is asked to do and does well, occupy two defenders, be a nuisance and hold the ball up. THAT is why he is picked every week over 3 internationals. I was shocked by how many people could not get that.

The 2nd in general was a real poachers goal. He had no right to put that in. I don’t care who it went off of our how it went in, it was an excellent poke and sums up what he should be doing more.

I’m also a bit happy that he has had a few very composed finishes this year. He’d normally be skying every chance that comes his way. Excellent.

He is premiership level but his finishing still needs work.

...ah well, I suppose that’s some type of pat on the back.

DCL lacks quality of a top goalscorer and top striker, I think we all accept that. He does, though, have all the physical ammunition a striker needs. Currently, he’s the best option we have. He was competitive today and any CB in the league will find him a handful in that mood.

Ultimately, though, we still need real quality in there.

The goals were the icing on the cake today, he terrified Christianson and the much vaunted Zouma today. Christianson especially looked to be physically cowed by him. A very good target man’s game, with or without the goals.

The problem is he is only good against the top sides who let him have space to run into/ us to hit on the counter.

Sadly 13 of our 19 opposition in this league are not of that description therefore he still isnt and shouldn't be the answer long term.
