He’s a bit of a weird one. His all round game has come on a lot and he’s generally a good player. He doesn’t really look like scoring a lot, but he’s got 10 for the season now which is genuinely excellent. It’s not immediately obvious how, but he’s suddenly become a much more dangerous player.

Exactly. It’s weird, because I’m not sure he’s doing that much Different to what he was doing 12 months ago but he’s now scoring more goals. I’m not complaining, it’s just a confirmation that football is a funny old game.

I think it’s a bit early for the I told you so party, even if some of his fiercest critics do seem to be, well...tossers.

He is definitely improving. He definitely stands up in comparison to most forwards in the league in some aspects of his game. And currently he is finding the net.

However he still looks like he can go a run with either scoring a couple but doing very little else to effect a game OR working his behind off for the team but fluffing his lines when the chances come his way.

If the boss can get this kid to train himself into the ground to improve Game by game his control, passing and finishing he has the athleticism, attitude, nous and strength as a base that many players would kill for.

Generally though it’s boss to see young players like Holgate Richy and DCL shine for us. We got DCL and Mason for 3.5mil combined ffs. Hopefully see Davies settle into a role and kick on too.

It’ll be fascinating watching them grow under a Don Carlo.
