Richarlison has been here 18months and delivered goals and performances on a constant basis
Dcl has been here 3/4 years and has in large been awful ( again except the last month )
I suspect, cba counting, DCL has scored similar amounts of goals between his two contracts as Rich did last season. £20k p/w is one of the very lowest in the squad. Can’t believe people are begrudging him at a reward for his consistent improvement every season. Got some weirdly bitter “fans” in this thread.

Since Richarlison signed, if you are comparing the performance levels of these 2 players you literally havent got a clue about football
Again like i said if DCL keeps up the performances for longer than 4 weeks then of course he deserves a new contract

People are having a tough time accepting that DCL has been gradually improving for the last couple years and appears to be reaching the level where he's just flat out a good player.
He deserves a new deal.

Apart from the past month I'd have said DCL isn't remotely good enough to be in our squad so why would I think he deserved a new deal?

So what about when we finally stuck him up front after Christmas last season and he was instrumental in us beating a lot of big teams and recovering our league position? No faint praise for him then?

Tbf he was doing a lot of the link up work that should have been done by Sigurdsson. Meanwhile Sigurdsson was the one focusing on scoring goals.

We are protecting ourselves as well as giving him a reward. 70k isn't really huge money for a first team striker in the PL

If he's playing well and bringing others into the team to score goals you can let him off a bit but not when it's 1 goal In 12 or 13 games, i rmemeber in that run we played and lost to already relegated Fulham and in that game DCL missed 2 one on one's which ultimately lost us the game, it's alrite when others are scoring but games like that your need your striker to put his chances away and he didn't
