Let me rephrase from something that is subjective to something that isn't, then. DCL is nowhere near the quality of the strikers of the sides looking to finish in the top 6. He is poor compared to the first choice strikers currently starting for those teams. That is not up for debate. He's not even up to the standard of a Martial or a Rashford. He is therefore a very eligible candidate for replacement.

I don't believe for a second that Ancelotti rates DCL as highly as the strikers currently playing for the teams in the top 7 of the PL right now. You can tell me he does, but you'd be speculating. What we know for sure is that Ancelotti was wise to look to boost the confidence of his first choice striker when he said what he did. Managers do this all the time. It's part of the job and it doesn't mean much, to put it mildly.
To be fair, I don't see a big difference between him and Tammy Abraham. Apart from Abraham started the season better.

I think DCL somes up this forum in general, 1 good game and hes finally lived up to his promise and can score 20+ and 1 average game and hes the worst striker we have ever had.......He is neither, he is a hardworking striker with good hold up play that can be good in a front 2, of which for some reason we have changed from playing 2 up top the past 2 games and we have suffered for it in my opinion.

Abraham's a more natural goalscorer I think. Not saying he's necessarily a better player all round (I haven't seen enough of him to say), but he looks much more dangerous around the box than DCL in my opinion.

DCL had a better strike rate than Abraham's when they both played for the England 21s. Abraham looks better because he spends most of his time inside the box.

No, Abraham just looks a more natural goalscorer. At Goodison earlier in the season he was very ordinary overall, but a cross came in to him and he managed to flick the ball instinctively towards goal. It didn't go in, but it's the type of thing that shows a natural predator. His goal against Arsenal too, got the ball back to goal but his first thought was spin and finish. I just don't see that from DCL, he doesn't seem to have that inbuilt predatory instinct.

I was going to say, both of those hit theirs straight at the keeper also, yet DCL is all to blame, odd.

Holgate is a defender though, so blaming him for not scoring? Na ( he should have done better like )

richarlison was equally as poor, in truth he had a worst game out of anyone in blue probably, but he is normally one our best players so he can get away with it a bit more than others
