Lukaku had a season at the age of 23 where he scored 25 goals in the Premier League. That 28m became 75m when we sold him.

I like the player DCL is becoming but he is nowhere near the player Lukaku was for us.

He's not the finisher Lukaku was for us.... tbf lukaku is a very good finisher - That's not in dispute.

The problem with lukaku to apply his "finishing" prowess means that he needs to have the chance created to do it. Against poorer sides his unintelligent movement isn't negated as much as it is when he plays against proper defenders. He gets caught offside way too often, defenders show him on his right foot..... he just doesn't get free to take his shot because he also can't create for himself.

DCL can score against better sides because he apply himself as a traditional centre forward, competes for every ball, wins headers, feeds the other players and gets available for the second balls.

Totally different type of players but I know exactly who I would want up front against the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, etc.

I don't get this comparison, Lukaku was here, scored a lot of goals and left, now we have Dom, he is now starting to score. When one bursts on the scene as a youngster and the other grows into his role naturally,I'd say comparisons are best done at the end of their careers because the likelihood is Lukaku will burn out quicker than Dom at the other end.

People are saying that DCL should be called up for England now that Rashford is injured along with Kane, DCL isn't good enough for Scotland
even with injuries. Ancellotti has surely seen enough of our super-striker, and now the purse should open!

So we sold Lukaku for 3 times his purchase price
We made roughly 50 m profit on him
Do you think we would not do
A ) Much better than 3 times the purchase price for DCL
B) Make roughly 50 m profit on DCL

Before you answer ,consider the fact that Dominic Solanke was sold for 20 million pounds sterling

Okay here’s a hypothetical scenario for you lads , and please answer honestly.

It’s last game of the season and we need 3 points to avoid relegation. We are drawing 1-1 away from home with 15 mins to go and we desperately need a goal. This is your hypothetical bench you can choose from but you only have 1 change left you can make, who would you bring on.

DCL
Jermaine Defoe (even at his age)
Troy Deeney
Danny ings
Chris wood
Divock origi

And be honest.

Personally I’d chuck Defoe on.
So there we go, I named 6 bang average players in the above scenario and not 1 person has made a case for dcl. I even purposely stayed away from naming top strikers on purpose. Kind of proves my point that Dom will run around and work hard all day but when you really need a goal is he gonna be the man you pin your hopes on ?

Defoe at 23?

Defoe at 23 scored 9 goals for Spurs in a season.

The plucky Scots would love to see "Dom" & "Naisy" together running around a lot offering next to zip all else.

Read the info minge
I think no one replied initially because it was a moronic hypothetical situation.

Let's compare a '23 year old up and coming striker' with 'one that's at the end of of their career and who has had the chance to mature but who, at 23, was in a similar position to our guy'
