I like him, and still hope he comes good with his shooting but we would have won if we had started kean on friday. No way would kean had softly sidefooted a shot from 6 yards out straight at the keeper when the whole left side of goal was empty.

Squad option at the moment can't believe we gave him the no9 tbh.Yes he has improved in terms of pitting himself about especially at home but he is a below average finished and being a striker is about being clinical ultimately. Richardson could even get a game up there at least he can finish.

What's wrong with saying "I need to keep what I'm doing and add some goals"?

You're basically vilifying him due to your personally choosing to misquote him?

Just odd that's all.

Well that escalated quickly, how is saying someone is a poor finisher vilifying him.

There is no need to take every critique as a personal attack. Hes a highly played professional footballer, his direct contribution to results or lack there off, can be critiqued without making it being a personal attack on the lad. Thats just lazy and to use your own words odd.

Its wrong because if he continues what he is doing he wont add goals. To state the obvious change = a different outcome. He has key attributes to his game, like Anchibe had, he is severely lacking in others to be specific finishing, shot selection and composure.

If he said that i need to have a 6 month programme of intense psychological support around composure, decision making in regard to my finishing and look at doing things differently id be more encouraged. Nothing changes in outcome if you keep doing the same things.

Really like everything about his game and there is a player in there. We need goals though and he can’t score. Missed 7-8 good chances in pre season and now so needs to be benched simple as !

"I just need to continue doing what I'm doing" - That's fine to despair over as he does need to start contributing more to his goals and assists.

"I just need to continue doing what I'm doing and start adding goals" - You can't despair over this quote as he's being honest and confirming what we all say on here.

I'm not taking it as a personal attack I just find it grating when people can't quote properly.

His actual quotes just to help you out in future:

“I just think I've got to keep doing what I've been doing, keep playing my own game, stay in my own lane and if I can keep doing that, doing well in training and continue fitting into the system,” he told the ECHO.

“Consistency, consistently performing well and doing the things I was doing last season: holding the ball up, stretching teams and playing my natural game which suits the way we play. I'm sure he wants me to add more goals to my game, as I do, and he's picked certain details out to help me do that and I'm sure as we start creating more at the top of the pitch, it will start to happen.”
