2020/21 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Everton's bargain deal to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United in 2016 was 'a lot less than £1.5million', according to the Under 23 boss David Unsworth.

The young forward has risen to prominence as the Toffees' star striker this season after smashing in seven goals this season to become the Premier League's joint-top scorer, and his progress will leave the club pinching themselves after snapping him up for such a modest fee.

Calvert-Lewin arrived at Goodison Park as a teenager for a reported fee of £1.5m, but Unsworth has poured cold water on that claim, insisting the actual price was much lower than most people think.

'I can assure you it was nowhere near the amount of money that people bandied about!' He told Sky Sports. 'I won't say the exact fee but it was a lot less than what you just quoted.'

Can someone with access please post the text of this article

Covered a lot of ground in the article from still talking about “us” (ie Everton), how Ancelotti has brought direction, how DCL has changed under Duncan Ferguson’s guidance and how a floated ball in to the box (like Digne’s against the RS) is better for DCL as he can use his leap to better effect rather than a whipped ball, how Godfrey and Keane May become England’s long term centre back pairing and finally, how we can crack top 4 esp if one or two more players are brought in in January
Oh, and he really rates Allan

Not entirely his fault as he's had no service but don't think I can remember a striker having a more inaffective game than this.

Worrying that of he's not supplied with chances on a plate he doesn't offer anything.

Shouldn't be burdened with doing it all when we know he's not that type of striker. If we want a creater and a slotter we need a new striker.

Yer I know what you mean, but youd still expect him to he in the game more than this, he's had about a dozen touches all game I reckon, poor that
