Was with you until the without a break bit, which is massively over used as an excusePoor tonight but he's been fantastic so far so no surprise his levels have dropped without a break.

Yup, for all the talk of rest, we were beaten by a side who played three games in six days. Is it just me or did our two good runs of the season coincide with Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday (or weekend-midweek-weekend) schedules? Was with you until the without a break bit, which is massively over used as an excuse
Mate to be honest he was crap. Service was restricted but we had several free kicks and corners for service but he was found wanting. When he collected anything tonight he didn't do anything with it. Looks like he is in need of precise service to be affective, but we need a striker that can make something out of nothing albeit very expensive to buy. Before anyone jumps on my back I am recognising he needs service but a boss striker will make something out of nothing but this is not in DCLs locker. He needs it on a plate and in my book that does not constitute a great striker. He needs to add to his game outside the box. To me he is a faux Duncan Ferguson. Sorry to offend but just my take on himJesus Christ! I despair at some of the garbage on here!!!
He got zero service all game.
The midfield were so inept, he was repeatedly dropping deep & did a decent job winning balls & giving it to a Blue shirt (one of the few who managed to do that).
Pretty sure it was Cahill who said it but when we were doing the best in Moyes' tenure someone(again, I think it was Cahill) said that they loved the matches just piling up because there wasn't any training, just matches on matches.Yup, for all the talk of rest, we were beaten by a side who played three games in six days. When you're trying to build a team, maybe match after match with little break is optimal.
He didn't get any service your right, but he hasn't had any service in 6 games and has barely had a shot in this time. ( Which says more about our midfield I know ) but this shows that without chances on a plate he's just not a goal threat, he needs to do more when he has the ball, he doesn't stretch teams enough with his pace, doesn't take anyone on, doesn't have shots from outside the box EVER which is weird for a massively in form striker.Jesus Christ! He doesn't really score "good" goals. He scores a very high % of headed/deflected/whateveryouwanttocallthem goals which count exactly the same as a 30 yard belter tho. Problem is that those require others for service and we don't really do that.He didn't get any service your right, but he hasn't had any service in 6 games and has barely had a shot in this time. Yer I said basically the same thing the other day in that if your van nistelrooy at United your always going to get chances with the quality of the players around you, when your at Everton and have your best providers out you need to mix your game up and do more, he he hasn't and has been quite infective. Again this isn't just down to him but earlier as an exanple, they had to use their backup keeper very last minute due to an injury any top striker would look to get the ball early and test him but DCL doesn't trust himself from outside the 6 yard box it seems. He doesn't really score "good" goals. I've no problem with him not really doing anything outside the 6 yard box, one of the best strikers in PL history did that at Utd (Van Nistelrooy). Its just that if nobody wants to be creative for him he probably won't be able to score a goal by himself.
He's also kind of his own problem...which is due to others. Because he doesn't get service he starts running channels or dropping deep which means by the time they are ready to get the ball in to the box they can't because there isn't anyone there. He is getting no service and we arent playing to his strengths. He's a box striker and a very good one, but there is no point playing a box striker if we are going to sit back and play off scraps and not put deliveries into the box. We may as well have played a false 9 given how we set up tonight.
It was an absolute nothing performance with none of the midfield doing their job properly. Not once did someone hit the ball direct into DCL in the box. It was dire crab football and not what is ever going to work for Everton. We are an aggressive direct team. Bin off the possession football.
Give him away!Sell him.
