I don't get that. He's a striker. They're supposed to score goals. In his first 11 games this season he scored 11. In his next 11 games he's scored 2. How is that "improving" in any sense of the word?
Eh? I said his running with the ball has improved, and he dominated their defence yesterday without scoring

Obviously I’d prefer he’d play like that every game and score every game too but he’d be the best striker ITW if he did that

Since December our football has been utter trash, He's been fed on scraps like most of the team. He's not at the level where he's gonna slot the only chance he gets a game.
Yesterday the goal happens from him winning the ball twice sometimes that's all he needs to do.

People going a bit OTT again here, he was alrite but with the ball at his feet he still needs massive work.

He's absolutely quality in the air and holding it up, he bullied that CB who got dragged off, he won some free kicks running outside as well.

But you think of the gomes pass he should have controlled better, there was one dead early on when someone played him in and he sort of just ran into the keeper ( similar to the Richy goal but more central ) there was the one he got the ball and turned into trouble instead of putting it out wide to doucoure ( he got a free kick like but was a bit lucky )

He has improved massively from the last season's but not wrong to say he still needs massive work with the ball at his feet.

You're weirdly picking holes in good play for some reason:

- The Gomes pass he was just offside and didn't get onto it anyway.
- The Doucoure through ball was right at Forster and zero chance of anyone in the world scoring from there.
- The drive where he could have passed it out wide ended up with a dangerous free-kick just outside the box. Why would passing out wide have been any better than a free-kick just outside the box?

- re the gomes one he should have timed his run better then if he was offside ( as per Richy in his goals in the last two games ) as I do think he still gets caught out offside a fair bit

- the pass from doucoure was slightly overhit but I'm sure he got a touch to it first? Could be wrong

- yes, he should have deffo went wide because doucoure was in all kinds of space and is rapid, let's be honest he bought that free kick a little as well. He ran into trouble, had no options and fell over, lucky the ref bought it.

Not picking holes at all, it's giving opinions as to where someone can/should improve.

I was more just pointing out that critising a player for not having a better touch on Gomes' pass, a pass which he didn't even get on the end of, is a sure way of spotting someone that's actively looking to criticise.

But in general my point is he needs to be better with the ball at his feet, which I was giving a few examples of this, you surely must agree he can improve at this?

Short of him not scoring a single goal more this year, this season has already been progress. Not just with his earlier goal return but with his team play and holding the ball up. Clearly needs work with the ball at his feet but give the lad a chance, he's still young.

As others have said as well, we've been rubbish going forward for a large chunk of the season and yet even now his overall goal return is very good. If we inject some pace and fluidity into our midfield - which everyone knows we need - that will likely spur him onto greater heights too.

Imagine him in a more consistent, fluid Everton team next season with a couple more signings in the right areas. Can't wait.

People just want the complete player in every position, always saying he could do more to improve. Honestly one lad you cannot level this argument with it is Dominic, I don't think he could have done anymore and improved any further in the time he's done it. He's constantly evolving as well so he may yet learn a few new tricks.

Cracking player now, cracking lad he comes across also, he loves it here as well, good times coming.
