Correct. Wishful thinking to want a proven goal scorer back. When he got into the box you always favored him to at least get a shot off or score. First thought wasn’t “well this chance is gone”
...and United sold him for some reason.
And that is why he isn't good enough.

Yes I don’t think centre forward is priority number one but if your CF can’t score one on one that is a big problem. Just watching the West Ham game where Lingard tucked in that opening chance with such confidence I thought to myself that DCL will never be able to do that. Richarlison has his moments but is not the best finisher himself
....I honestly remember fans saying exactly the same about Graham Sharp.
You will have to forgive my age but I don't remember Sharp.
I want my strikers to first and foremost be reliable in front of goal. He's not.
