All with not very nice things to say about these players.

Why are you so against these players in particular?

Makes absolutely no sense. You're arbitrarily deciding that a 'purple patch' is an anomaly in a young footballer based on nothing.

Maybe the 5 in 18 is the anomaly. You don't know either way. Fact is he's improving year on year in terms of his goal output and contribution to the side. He's been fantastic this season.

You can’t use his entire career as there have been multiple regime shifts during that time.

For a young striker, no. It might be the norm now, or not.

By your logic, Jamie Vardys entire second half of his career was a purple patch. One year he scored 5 PL goals, the next 24.
