Not many teams score loads from midfield. And it depends on the system. Chelsea. Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante don’t score. Mount who plays infront of them as a 10 has got 6/7. Spurs midfielders don’t score. Arsenal the same. Smith-Rowe who’s been playing as a 10 has just scored his 1st & 2nd goals.

Utd Again it’s fernandes who plays the 10 role. Fred may have 1 mctominay has maybe 3/4. Pogba hasn’t many.

Leicester Maddison again he’s a number 10 has scored a few but probably less than 10.

Most teams play with 2 holding midfielders. So unless you play 4231 with a 10. Of wing backs with a 10. Maybe in a 433 one of the midfielders will have a bit more license to go forward.

City are the exception and that’s because they’re a brilliant team and tend to play about 6 midfielders every game.

in the modern game, not many teams have scoring midfielders. But go back to our 80’s team. Reid & bracewell rarely scored. Luckily fir us are wide played scored goals in them days.

Yes I know he hasn’t had Great service at times. But the way people go on about the service, you’d think Salah, Kane, vardy get 4 or 5 brilliant chances every game.

I just think other parts of his game need to improve a lot. And I’m not sure they will

His first touch needs sorting out but one thing about him is he has up to now , improved every season hopefully it will continue.

Looking at our season stats earlier. Thank God he's banged a few in. The goals from midfield is actualy cringe. Gomes, allan, davies, iwobi and doucoure. 3 goals between the 5 of them. Wether we can make a case for what some do individualy, thats a shocking return.

It makes for pretty poor reading i know mate, we really need 3/4 of them scoring a few goals each if we are going to cement a place in the top 6, we need more goals throughout the team simple as.

You know i havent looked at other clubs stats of goals from midfield. But when you look at the goal difference of the top 8, the jump from ours to the 7 above is scary.

I think some factors are out of his control especially since richie's downturn on form, as the onus on scoring is completely placed on him when james isn't fit which is often. I feel if the midfield offered more of an offensive threat it would actually draw away more coverage from him and provide further options.

He’s improving a lot, just needs to work at creating his own goals and being a bit more clinical. I’m glad he has been given a chance as it’s starting to pay off. I had my doubts but can’t argue that he has improved and progressing nicely. Beast in the air.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't the worst in the division and it really doesn't help the strikers, just puts more pressure on them to score the few chances they do get.

Is 16 league goals in 29 league games not good enough. better than 1 in 2 poor lad just cannot please some.

Thought he looked shattered against Villa from the first whistle. Think he would benefit from a rest but looks unlikely to get one as Carlo doesn't trust anyone else. Probably unpopular opinion, but I'd like to see King start the next game with DCL on if we're chasing the game last half hour.
